The official launch of the French Campaign on MDGs - "Huit fois Oui" - took place on 14 October at the French National Assembly in Paris. The Dicrector of the UN Millennium Campaign Europe, Marina Ponti, was invited in this occasion to share best practices on how to better communicate and inform public opinion on the MDGs. The focus of the French Campaign is to raise awareness of the MDGs particularly through an exhibition made of 8 totems, each representing one of the Goals, that will travel around the country. Sensibilisation on this topic will particularly target the young public. The exibit will be rolled out to numerous schools during the school year mainly targeting children of age 9 through 13. An information kit, comprising also a book on the 8 Goals, will be distributed among the public at large particularly within enterprises, universities and other public places. The French Campaign is carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery, the Ministry of Education and the French National Agency for Development (AFD).

The UN Millennium Campaign in Germany was established in the beginning of 2005. In close co-operation with Civil Society Organisations Dr. Renée Ernst and her team is promoting the MDGs, supporting and encouraging people to call for the implementation of the goals and to call politicians to keep their promises. In Germany, the Millennium Campaign focuses especially on youth and local authorities.

The Italian Millennium Campaign (Campagna del Millennio) aims to play an essential role in changing political will in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Such political change will not occur without citizens raising their voices. For that to happen the Italian Millennium Campaign's activities and events are designed to:

• Inform citizens about the root causes of poverty in the world and the necessity of coherent policies to fight and end poverty.
• Encourage the government to meet their commitments for more and better aid.
• Empower citizens to raise their voices and let leaders know that the achievement of the MDGs are an important political priority.

"UN Millennium Campaign Portugal" was established in March 2007, adopting the brand "Objectivo 2015". It seeks to work jointly with CSOs willing to promote the MDGs. The Campaign is working closely with organisations linked with its three main target groups – youth, faith-based organizations and local authorities. Objectivo 2015 fosters both grassroots and media-oriented initiatives. It works closely with CSOs at local level to inspire local MDG initiatives and also seeks to maximize media coverage for MDGs initiatives and contents (op-eds).

The Spanish Millennium Campaign was created in 2004 to build up alliances with social platforms, local and regional governments, youth organizations and other key constituencies in Spain with the purpose of demanding the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and, more particularly, of Goal 8 commitments: more quantity of Official Development Aid (ODA), better quality of ODA, debt relief and trade justice.

In 2006 the Spanish Millennium Campaign opened a new office in Barcelona to consolidate its presence in Spain and strengthen the work with local governments. 
In the past years, the Spanish Millennium Campaign has actively worked with key partners to raise awareness on the MDGs, encourage citizens’ participation, and influence development policies and debates in Spain.
