Marina Ponti
Deputy Director for EuropeMarina Ponti has been the Deputy Director for Europe at the UN Millennium Campaign since February 2003. Before joining the Campaign, Ponti was Head Campaigner at Mani Tese, an Italian development NGO based in Milan, where she lead advocacy campaigns from 1997-2002 on development issues such as trade, debt and the Tobin tax. Xavier Longan
Focal point for Local AuthoritiesXavier Longan is the Coordinator of the UN Millennium Campaign’s office in Barcelona (Spain) at the World Secretariat of United Cities and Local Governments. Prior to joining the UN Millennium Campaign, Xavier worked as a Campaign Coordinator for Eurostep in Brussels, where he supported the efforts of the Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) in Europe, and contributed to improve its visibility and coordination as a civil society movement against poverty and for the MDGs. Xavier Longan holds a Master’s Degree on European Institutions and Policy-Making from the University of Lancaster (UK); a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Lancaster (UK); and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Barcelona (Spain).

Reneé Ernst
GermanyRenée Ernst is the representative of the UN-Milleniumcampaign in Germany since February 2005. For many years she has been working in international development cooperation. More than ten years the doctorate in agriculture scientist managed many different development projects in Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Renée Ernst worked in projects for the GTZ (German Technical Cooperation), the DED (German Development Service) and in cooperation with the World Bank and the FAO. Before she started to work for the German UN-Millenniumcampaign, she was department head for project management in an International Institute for Peace Research and Disarmament.

Stephanie Bindzus
GermanyStephanie Bindzus joined the Campaign in Germany as Communications Manager in 2006. Previously she was working for the German umbrella organisation of NGOs "VENRO", where she coordinated the German branch of the Global Call to Action against poverty "Deine Stimme gegenArmut". Stephanie has also worked as a PR consultant following a sabbatical year in Central and South Asia where she engaged with the Development sector. Stephanie holds a master in Geography from the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz

AlessandraTarquini
ItalyAlessandra joined the United Nations Millennium Campaign in 2003 as Communication Coordinator and Press Officer in Italy. Previously she worked for “Peace Roundtable”, the main Italian civil society network on peace and human rights, and for the Italian Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights. She followed the promotion and communication of International and National events and the realization of human rights educational activities. Alessandra is a journalist and holds a Master’s Degree in Political Sciences.

Anna Ortubia
SpainAnna Ortubia is the Communications Coordinator of the United Nations Millennium Campaign in Spain. Prior to joining the UN Millennium Campaign, Anna worked as a journalist in several Spanish media and as a research analyst in several organizations both in Spain and the US. Anna Ortubia holds a Master in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University (USA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).
