Stand Up Take Action in Europe

‘Stand Up, Take Action’ this year will take place on 17-19 September. As world leaders will convene on 20-22 September at the UN MDG Review Summit to agree on a concrete road map for the next five years, their citizens will tell them loudly and clearly: “We will no longer stay seated or silent in the face of poverty and the broken promises to end it!"

EUROPE: ‘MAKE YOUR HEART BEAT FOR THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS’

The global message for this year’s ‘Stand Up, Make Noise for the MDGs’ has been modified in Europe to ‘Make your heart beat for the MDGs’. This concept incorporates both an emotional component (i.e. citizens care about the MDGs) and a pragmatic component (i.e. let’s speed up the efforts to achieve the MDGs).

Our slogan is: "To beat poverty, we need less talk and more action! Do something loud and strong: make YOUR heart beat for the MDGs."
