May 20, 2010- Last night, Italian representatives of Parliament, civil society and media gathered in Rome for a concert in memory of Tajudeen Abdul- Raheem, the late UN Millennium Campaign Deputy Director for Africa who died in a road accident one year ago. In attendance were the Millennium Campaign Regional Director for Africa, Charles Abugre, Regional Director for Europe, Marina Ponti, and Italian Coordinator, Marta Guglielmetti.
During the concert, the orchestra played a melody to the rhythm of a heart beat in memory of Abdul-Raheem.

The past year has marked the half-way point for realisation of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) . The eight goals were agreed on by global leaders at the United Nations Millennium Summit in 2000, with 2015 set as the deadline for achieving the MDGs.
